hey guys i was wondering how many of u guys are in bands where u use charts. like chord charts eg. E minor to a G and all tht

I do - cause we use the "Fake-Book For Jazz" and I am supposed to look at the chart so that I know which Bar we are in ...... very important, when trading-4...

The Truth: (I very Pai-seh) never bring the Chart and look at it - Band Leader remind me many times liao - I think it's a very good disclipine for playing New Songs - But after Rehersing for a while - Band Members are supposed to remember the song and try not to look at the chart - at least this is what I was told.

Cheers Bro

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the fake book for jazz ? Is it a compilation of lead sheets or something like that ? Because I seen this mentioned a few times but still have no idea what that is
