oops... sorry. i meant, given the good quality, at this low price, Larrivee is a good buy.
I tried the lower end, but all solid wood construction @ $1800! with clear pickguard. The sales person willing to sell at $1300. Not sure whether this offer is still valid. Unplugged sound is very good. When plugged in, the natural sound of the guitar a bit distorted. Maybe is the amp problem, or the B-band pick up. not sure..
I tried the higher end, @ $2600 (the most expensive Larrivee they have in store at that time). They offer me $2300, again not sure if the offer still valid. The sound is amazingly loud and balance.
I tried Taylor 100, 200, 300, 500 and some collection series. The playability, neck, action... i love them, but 300 series is already $2.8k with pickup (if i'm not wrong). And the sound that impressed me was ard the 400 series (w pickup)and above, which was >$3.5k (if i'm not wrong). Way far beyond my reach.
I look for high "performance/price", so i'd recommend a Larrive. In my opinion, the lower end Larrivee mentioned is already a very good quality guitar. Try it out.
