La'cryma Christi

one of my favourite jrock bands all-time. the debut major 'sculpture of time' production was killer. very competent musicians, odd-time signatures, key changes, arrangements sounded so slick yet very accessible. i thought the vocal taka was the reason why the band couldn't go further. levin (drummer) consistently voted best drummer in many japan music/drum magazines !!!

I SERIOUSLY AGREE WITH YOU! dont really like the singer's voice, tad too whiny sometimes, but the riifs are inherently original and refreshing, not too mention the gear they use. For some some reason i cant seem to find out what kind of gear they are using; but the firbird hiro was using oozes mojo and killer tones to die for..

Hi, I don't agree it's Taka the one who caused the band's breakup, should have other factors too. Anyway now all of them have their own little playground to play with. Just hope they will come back one day.

wow, never thought i'd see a la'cryma discussion thread here =)

liked their older stuff before koji left the band, like plainsman mentioned, very musical and also high technical level at the same time. thought taka's voice lended to the mystical feeling their songs were supposed to evoke.

after koji left, they went into american rock style (think it was hiro's influence) and i stopped listening ...
