Hi hi~ am totally amateur and newbie here... so am gonna expect a few lashing...

i saw the CityMusic sale, and suddenly have an urge to buy a midi controller myself... especially since it's Korg~~

Am looking at the MicroKontrol ($430) or Kontrol49 ($600)... Is this a good price for these two? Can i get better pricing anywhere else? (or shd i not be asking this kind of qns here?)

Kontrol49 is ~~A BIT~~ expensive for me, but am willing to spend it if u guys really highly recommend it tho....

On another note, trying to find some other brands to buy besides Korg (knowing it's a higher end brand)... Surfing around and ppl mentioning M-Audio Axiom and Oxygen series. Which one is a good equivalent to MicroKontrol?

Additional and May-or-may-not-be-useful Info: I'm working currently on Propellerhead Reason and Pro Tools.

Thanks a lot guys!! Hope I won't be so newbie-ish after this... *blush*

mm... i understand that both contains no internal sound modules since they're midi controllers.

but hor, is it really going to be important? will the sounds be better than using patches or modules? i'm working on propellerhead reason and will contain quite a number of patches. (can invest in better patches in the future, that is when i hav more money tho...)

how about the MicroKorg and any M-Audio keyboards? do any of them have internal sound modules already?

asked my fren, but him as a guitarist, hard to give me an answer oso... he juz asked me to look around before i make my decision... :(

basically both are good brands.

what you need to look at is, whether you like the touch of the keyboard, and how may fader, knob, and pad that you need. Ask yourself, will you ever need it? (to control your reason on the fly) ... if you don't need .... there is no need to go for the higher end one. (most people use the higher-end midi controller, with more knob, fader, and pad for live performance. But if you're using it to sequence, it's not really needed i guesss)

if you're looking at M-audio Oxygen, for me it's a good one as well. Not as pricey as Axiom. And i'm selling one =P ... Oxygen 49 ..... pm me if you're interested to see... hahaha

I've got an M-Audio Axiom 49. It works in any environment Windows or Mac, eg. Garageband, Cubase, Reason, etc. Got sliders and knobs so that you don;t have to edit on the computer. can set assignable controls. also got a drum trigger pad. Actually I like it but just haven;t found time to use it.

I'm selling, so go look at my ad if you're interested. or msg me at 945 000 92

Cheers,
Deepster
