knot on bass

hi ppl.. i am quite noob to the bass.. just bought a 5 string bass.. but can anyone teach me how to identify whats the knot on the bass is ? and also .. wat does bass treble mid prenscence affect the sound ?

what's a knot on the bass? do you mean knobs? not all knobs on the bass are the same. u can tell us what bass u have and maybe we know what they do.

bass determines how boomy it'll sound, mids determine its punchiness, and treble defines its clarity. presence is somewhat like highs. experiment with all the knobs and see what it does to your sound.

glad to be of help learning from the people of the warwick forums to be extra friendly instead of those that look down on noobs and get sick of answering the same qs over and over again. the warwick forums is the most gracious and friendly place to be in. no flaming/spamming or whatsoever. i believe this is how all forums should be.

sry but i'm not familiar with your bass. how many knobs does your bass have? how many pickups does it have? is your bass active/passive?

4 knobs... active .. with one dual humbucker and one single coil .. jazz layout

ooh. at first i thought thread was about wood knots.. i vaguely remember some guitarist telling me that these were weak spots in the wood.

rojiko: usually if 4 knobs should be 2 band eq. possible vol/vol/bass/treble or vol/blend/bass/treble. how many with center detent?
