Keep your pedal springs disattached where possible!

Hi all, it's a common trend to leave our springs attached and stretched on our pedals, out of laziness more than anything else probably. This is usually the case when our pedals are attached to the bass drum at home or in the studio.

But do take note that we should not allow the springs to be stretched over prolonged periods of time. There is a material phenomenon known as "creep deformation" which would permanently deform the spring. The result is spring tension weakening which causes a slower pedal response.

To keep your pedals responsive for as long as possible, do take the time to disattach the spring once playing is over. 8)

Hope this helped.

i dunno bout other pedals design but the iron cobra's spring attachment design is a bearing where u just need to pull and attach and can be taken out just by detaching the holder from the ball bearing...

for the other pedals, i guess u have to take off the screw from the bottom end and than take it off which makes it a very difficult task to put it back and time consuming to tune it back up...

so give and take, the IC's have a great attaching invention... if the other pedals do has it too, than it's great!!
