Just came back from mosaic fest. Hiromi + maceo parker

It was totally awesome man, i became an instant super fan after watching hiromi's live performance. Was overflowed by energy :lol: , if she had kept her demonic hairstyle for her japan concert, i would have thought she had became a demoness. Totally awesome, i bought her latest album Spiral and got her to sign it, damn happy now haha.. After that was Maceo parker, damn awesome too. Really the king of funk man! Overall was super very satisfied with the concert today, hope got other chances to see hiromi perform live , anyone else went too?

Hey there,

Yeah, Hiromi was intensity personified! Pocket dynamo indeed. But I really went for Maceo because I'm a huge James Brown fan and boy did he have the groove. The guitarist had the smoothest riffs even if he wasn't showy like good funk guitarists are.

I hope you went for the Dennis Rollins thing at 11 because that was kickass. Well, it was pretty groovy even if the bassist's choice to use an acoustic bass somehow didn't fit in with their whole set and I thought their sound lacked that kick because of that. But the best thing was that after their set, there was this free jam session that saw Hiromi, Bob James + Nathan East (of fourplay, who are performing tomorrow) and the Dennis Rollins band engage in virtuoso jam sessions. And that was free too! After watching them from like 1 metre away, we shook hands with all of them and did the "we're your biggest fan" BS.

my gosh she was amazing! i got to see some of her stuff during her sound check... couldn't make it for the concert tho... btw this year's Mosaic Music Fest looks really, really promising!
