But quaver = quarter note, i.e. 1 beat out of 4/4, not dotted 8th = 0.75 beats in a 4/4 bar

An eighth note would be half a quaver, i.e. 0.5 beats in a 4/4 bar.
The dot adds half the time of whatever note its attached to. /end of theory lesson

No lar! a 1/4 note is a quarter note.. also known as crotchet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarter_note

). I'm used to referring to them as quavers and crotchets; still remembering my theory lessons from a long time back. It's a quaver delay at 68bpm, or straight crotchets at the song's actual tempo, 136.
