Jingle Composers.

Are there any Jingle composers in this forums. How good is the market and what skills do you think are required to compose jingles for commercials?

these couple of my friends have done audio works for nickelodeon, SIA,nokia etc. do check them out. basically u will need to have gd musical knowledge which includes the ability to play instruments and to be able to work on audio consoles/recording equipments.

absolutely wad thailoverboy has said, u have to have good musical knowledge and good audio knowledge on top of that. u will be doing compositions, recording , and every part of the production. Aside from your skills, u will need to make good contacts and build up ur relationship with people over time in other to get even better contacts to have better jobs

*about the market, it really depends... if ure really good and have a wide range of contacts for projects, u might be earning quite a bit ..

you can earn around 45k for 1 jingle...but if you play as a sessionist thats diff la

30 secs+...not that long la,only jingle what =) but mostly in singapore,they looking for the budget type[more to programming/sequence],45k is for other country like hongkong...

sg one around 6k+ if im not wrong...but i check other country,they willing to pay around that 40k range,but must be live la,not sequence stuff

icic, all live insturments? but wad if need to contain some electric elements .. anyway sessionists are not that ex leh... 40k+ is like damn alot, even if ur jingle need 4-5 sessionists, at most ure paying 200$ per sessionist for the jingle.. still earn like alot..

electric elements can add la,but drum n stuff,normally they use sessionist,not some drum program or citybass...
yeah,the 1 that make money is the producer la,since he got the contact n stuff...thats after dunno how long he able to find good contact,who knows previously he struggle like hell

last heard a corporate jingle the tender price is $20-30K.

but remember...if you get a project with super big company like coca cola,its more than 45k,remember the chee hwa hwa song?hahaha,they make bloody alot,its been showcased to the world what,you get the royalty as well

that's equivalent to a year's pay for some of us salary people

myself only earn $40K a year. *sigh*
