Guys, if you want to hear what a Canopus kit sounds like, here's your chance. Not to mention you'll get to hear a smokin' cat make them sing

Cool! Thanks for the heads up weckl-x.
Will be watching Tizzybac at the Esplanade tonight. Can catch some smooth jazz after that. :D

Thanks again Weckl-x! Today might be tight though. Ugh.

By the way! Beboptang's band, Walking On Water, will be playing on Sunday!

[EDITED]

Wen said in another thread that he brought with him a Skiba-fied Agop TW. This would probably be the closest us drummers would prolly get to a Skiba cymbal. Be sure to check it out tonight!

Oh and those who don't know who Soh Wen Ming is, check out his Myspace.

Who went!

I went for the 10-10.45pm session.

Brilliant, the playing of course.

The turn out was disappointing.

I wonder Wen will have a couple more gigs like this before he returns to the US of A.

Glad you made it down. I was there thru all three sets.

There were a lot more people when they were doing standards with Melissa.
Without the sweet face+vocals, only the die-hards remained. Ha.

Ahhh... A pity that I had to scoot off after the Tizzybac concert at the Recital Studio. Will have to try to make it for the next one/

To all you guys who came down, thanks so much, God knows we needed the support!

Anyone who wants to see the skiba, get in touch and we can arrange something...

and hozea, we gotta hang soon bud

Wen

Me! I want to see the skiba! :D

Also, what was your cymbal setup and snare for the night? Your LSR was very nice! Loved the snare.

jeepers,
is there going to be some kinda drum exchange soon or something? if not just drop me a line and we'll see how we can make ithappen

the LSR was a 20 inch sabian artisan with one rivet, great cymbal isn't it?

and the snare was just the oak custom snare that came with the kit

Wen: I'm not sure about whether a drum exchange's happening anytime soon. Do you have any more gigs you're doing before you leave for US?

A 20" Sabian Artisan. A light, medium or prototype? Yup it was great, fantastic; near perfect, imo. I've got the artisan in 22" med. Very nice, but I was thinking of getting it thinned a wee bit.

Cool, I thought you brought along your snare 'cos you were carrying a snare bag (?) after you packed up.

hey man,
not many things lined up as i can remember, doing something in NTU in august. the cymbal was a light...and i did bring a snare but figured the oak custom would do fine. my own snare is actually a cheapie student model from the 70's but it sounds fab as hell.

Always a pleasure. Wondering if the esplanade guys let you record the mix off the board?

Yeah, hang we must.

Wen: Cool. I'm kinda busy the rest of the month, and possibly the first week of August. When's your thing at NTU? I'll be able to drop by since I'm a west-sider, pretty close to NTU. Let me know.

All the best,
Jasper

Hey Wen,

Yup I just checked it out. Man the tracks on your myspace are killin'! I first heard them a couple of weeks back and man I can't get enough of them I tell ya.

I won't be free on the 6th so I'll be dropping by for the one on the 1st. Where's the Blujaz Cafe. Pardon my ignorance!

ATB,
Jasper
