Hey guys, i decided to do a seperate thread for the Itinerary. Here's the skeleton now.

17th March 1-4pm @ El Cube @ 16A Duxton Road

1) Self Intro around the room (Rudimental Drummer facilitates)
2) How does a drummer warm-up for a gig and/or self-prac? (RLA facilitates)
3) Cymbal type sounds and care (Drum Hobbyist facilitates)
4) TOPIC X
5) Free and Easy

Possible suggestions for TOPIC X are as follow:

a) Concept of Soloing & Trading
b) Single and Double Strokes accenting
c) Double Bass Techniques
d) Latin / African Styles
e) Jazz Styles

Anymore ideas before we start to narrow topics down?

Btw guys, I've no idea why we keep referring to an 'itinerary'..

Here's what it means, and it doesn't apply to us, we're not doing a tour!

1. A route or proposed route of a journey.
2. An account or record of a journey.
3. A guidebook for travelers.

how does one start out learning/experimenting with a new genre. what are the right steps to take?
haha possible topic X.

Wow.www I didn't know there was already a Topic on this: - My apology Bros (just saw it)

Bro Caijunlong - fill-ins?, Bro Gambatak - how does one start out learning/experimenting with a new genre. Bro Marcdadrummer - accenting studies? Bro Frummer - Applying rudiments on the Drumset....are all somehow within what is being laid out by Bro rla as per below for Topic X.

Looking at it - I wonder if we could cover at least just 2 of the below Topics...Accenting by itself incorporating Single or Double Strokes (alot already - can make a solo also when applying it on a Drum set), will most likely lead-on to accenting using both single & doubles which include the basic rudiments of Paradiddles Groups (say about other Rudiments all making up of Single & doubles) - This by itself is a huge Topics. On top of this accenting knowledge - incorparate it into a Rythmn Pattern ...can comes up with something like experiecing with some new genre (as you fuse it)....as can be seen - they are link in a way somehow or another even - Jazz Style mentioned by Bro rla below - add in the Double Bass - Kekekeke you get Fusion with all the above....

Now I headache liao lah......too little time - too many things. It goes to show that we can only do at most 2 Topic most probably from the listed topics (since we have only 4 hours - and need some time for free & easy stuffs Q & A Session etc).....added to this - we now have 30 over Drummers from soft here - Sharing means everyone show what thet know, and take-in knowledge from others at the same time - I really wish we have the luxury of time here - unfortunately we do not have it - therefore there need to be a 2nd and a 3rd after this meet-up (if everything goes well).....so lets try to bring it down to 2 to 3 Topic only - Starting from maybe - a stage by stage process so that everyone can benefit (not only now) but as they get together for the 2nd one - and the 3rd and so on and so forth - as it advances........meaning Jazz and African/Latin/Brazilian/ Songo hopefully will not be discuss in our 1st meet-up (I do understand each and everyone of us are all at different stages of drumming - some Beginners, some intermediate and some advance level of drumming) - but I also feel it will benefit alot of us here if we start off from the basic - as Drumming can only be good as we all progress - provided the Basic Is Set Right (this can correlate to Basic Drumming Techniques be it in Accenting singles, doubles, Rudiments, hi-hats, riding a cymbal, crashing cymbals, double bass - many more)....but I'm not saying we are doing this - Just that there must be a Stage by Stage Process from those listed here from easy to very tough ones - we start somewhere, but not the tough one lah

What do you think? - It's just my own personal opinion - no offence to anyone....If I did, it was not intentional, just my thoughts.....

cheers...Eric

As Bro rla mention - "Anymore ideas before we start to narrow topics down?"

Bro kahuna - yes, it will definetely have to be showing & explaining the stuff played on the kit itself (this is sharing by any Bros), ...and these "stuff shown/explained" will only be - pertaining to The Topics To Be Finalised as in this thread - That's the purpose why we are consolidating FeedBacks here mah....
