Hi guys,

This thread might be useful for those on budget and want to get the job done. Is there really, such audio interface that cost less than a 100 bucks but yet get the job done pretty well ? Or should I say, decent recording. Not for real recording on a CD, for demos and practice only. I too would like to know if there is any.. What I know of is the Guitar Link UCG102 from the Behringer Company which it sells around $50-$60 here in Singapore. Don't know if it's good though. Haha.. Btw, I once bought the Line 6 Toneport GX at $75 which is a steal. It does the job pretty well too !

I use to record vocals on it and guitar only for personal references. So there it goes, Line 6 Toneport GX might be good for those are below budget. Less than a 100 bucks only! If there is any interface that you ever bought or you know of that cost less than a 100 bucks, do share with fellow softies here ! Might be useful though ! Cheers !

Onboard soundcard sounds crappy man with my macbook. Latency issues. I use to do that before but when it comes to recording distortion guitar, sounds very fuzzy. Any idea how to record distortion guitar BP ? I tried but come out very fuzzy. Am using guitar rig 4.

Valentin0 : http://www.myspace.com/ingride , the tracks was recorded DIY by the vocalist and some of the guitar tracks were done via the under $10 method before he bought his maudio usb fastrack audio i/f then engaged me to mix/master. I guess it does sound crappy but depends on the post production. you get what you compromise I guess. I'm just suggesting to the thread topic discussion, since we're talking about "behringer" grade/toneport gx level recording gear.

I see, alright bro. For those starting out in recording might follow ur steps. Afterall, it's just for demo or practice. Cheers!

it's not just about "starting out" , it's more about the budget-efficiency , some are willing to start out with a budget of $500 - $1000. but really if you're only going to fork out "under $100" , you might as well fork out "under $10". and work/save up to $1K and "re-start out decent".

picture that you're going to spend $1000 on a ultimate fine dining experience of your life, but there's a dodgy restaurant next door saying "have 'fine dining' experience at $10! 100 times cheaper!" I'll be right to say that you might as well eat mcdonalds cos it tastes better than the $10 dodgy food, but at $6 , or upsize it for quantity.
