Is the Marshall Guvnor 2 pedal good?

I have the Jackhammer and the Guvnor 2.

Both are different beast ... the Guvnor 2 being a recaste Guvnor 1 but with additional tone control especially on the depth/mid-range.

The Jackhammer is for more brutal tones .... and shares a similar amount of tone controls as the Guvnor 2.

I use the Guvnor 2 for Iron Maiden + classic metal stuff through a clean amp.

Great tool when gigging out.

I was told the jhammer is less natural sounding than guvnor 2

The jackhammer has a loud output..
furthermore can toggle between od or drive,
while the Guynor2 offer wide array of mids..

i prefer these two to Boss current distortion unit.

You want a real good distortion pedal? Get Russian made AMTs. Their distortion called Rammstein is great. Well that's for real shredding and stuff so it may not suit everyone.

I'm more into the Marhshall sound. I just saw the Silver tide video ' Aint coming home'. awewsome stuff. His using a Reissue Marshall , may be a JTM45? The cranked tubes sounds heavenly guys..
