Is the Digitech GNX4 any good?

Hi, i'm currently using a Zoom G2, no amps, just a pair of earphones, with my Ibanez Jem555, dimarzio Evolution pickups. I'm attracted by the fact that the GNX4 has a 8 track recorder as well as having some bass effects, It is selling at $899 without GST at swee lee. Any users of this multi effects comments?

I've finally come to the conclusion regarding multiefx within a similar price range. They are all the same. You may have some trade offs eg. better modulations vs. better amp + cabinet modelling, versatility, ease of tweak etc. but at the end of the day there is no one multiefx that kicks another multiefx's ass. It's a matter of preference. To answer your question, the GNX4 has great amp and cabinet modelling and average effects for its class (Boss GT8, Pod XTL, Vox Tonelab SE/LE, Zoom G8/9.2U). It's definitely versatile though. I'm currently using the GNX3000 which sacrifices some of the GNX4's features with and improvement in digital sampling.

Thanks for your help,will consider among these few models as stated. I guess i'm leaning more towards the GNX4 for it's numerous features.
