Is PRS copies better or Les Paul copies ?

2 diff guitars in a whole. Which is better, an Orange or an Apple? However, what songs do you play, your budget and what not and we'll see if there are better suggestions for you :)

my genre are broad.. More to alternative now like paramore , fall out boy , versemerge .. Also into reggea/ska like 311 , sublime , no doubt .. budget wise.. not sure.. still raising..

rally les paul copies are bang for buck imo. tried one last time, feels damn smooth. and now i think they come with jumbo frets...makes playing a whole lot easier haha. not sure bout their prs copies though...those are still new, nvr got the time to go down to try new guitars nowadays, better not feed my gas lol

Guys.. i check out all the reviews and demos videos on PRS SE Tremonti and i really like it much but does anyone knows how much it cost.. the last time i check it cost ard 800++ at davis.. any other store do bring in this except davis..?

I'd strongly suggest you go try it out before buying, it'll sound different in your hands than in the reviewer's hands. No other place i know of sells PRS, but you can try the Luther Classifieds or SOFT Classifieds for 2nd hand.

Brendon does bring in PRS at very reasonable prices.
However, Davis, being a large music store, is obviously cheaper... (Not guessing, i did do price checks, albeit over different guitars, so if you wanna check, contact Brendon)

Copies do cater to people who want the tone/look but can't afford it. And many Les Paul copies (think Orville/Burny) have a cult following. And you can keep copies for a long time too, why not?

craftmen guitars are good guitars considering the relatively cheap price it costs.. can be considered as good. I don't noe much about their LP but their EGs are nice..The best why is you go down to citymusic and try the LP out.. A fren of mine uses a EG310 and a EG90. Quite a decent guitar i should say. 8-)

like you said, they are copies. save up more money, get the real thing, coz you can keep it for a LONG time.

Yes, i agree, if you want a Lespaul get the real thing, the copies are nothing close imo.
buy a copy, you might not feel satisfied, you spend to get another and another...might as well save and get something real.

Why not go for 2nd hands? Relatively gd pricing and still better than the newer ones, considering Gibson guitars age ;)

Orvilles are not cheap..

I'll have to disagree with that last comment about copies being not even close to the real thing. In 1980, Greco made their "super real" series of lps that have almost the exact likeness of the real thing. Their workmanship was spectacular.

There's a reason why they're referred to as "lawsuit" lps.

Further more when u compare prices, if you don't care too much about the brand and more about the look feel and sound, they're a real bang for your buck.

I own a Greco 79 lp myself.

There are some really amazing copies out there if u know where to look.

During the "lawsuit" era, Gibson went through a bad patch and quality control was a downhill slide. Hence, the reason why the Japan copies got popular. But that was then. In today's context, Gibson custom shop guitars are one of the best in terms of wood selection and workmanship in the market right now. Maybe some of the Japanese copies can come close but no matter how close they are. They're still copies. If you can afford a real Gibson. Get one. Don't have to debate whether the copies are better. Even if they are, they're no Gibson. It's pointless. Just save up.
