Hi.

It's a strat copy guitar and intend to get the body from warmoth.
wish to use this neck, cos of sentimental value. but the protruding truss rod is a concern...

as for the set will be a kahlef 2215.

you probably can install the nut further back
or you can replace/mod the nut to a shorter one that doesn't protrude so far

ya.. it's a headache.. should i cut deeper into the first fret to install the nut.
but what happen to the screws that holds it. will it brush with the truss rod.?
headache.. this neck use a normal nut for a vintage style previously( i don like the bridge at all heehee). but it's my "frankerstein". want to reuse it.

i'd advise you get a new neck as well. cuz as you said, it has sentimental value, and if u screw it up, you'll basically end up with firewood. it IS possible, but the screws used to hold the nut in might very well hit against the truss rod. and especially since you have to drill the holes, u might end up drilling into the truss rod as well.

another easy option to consider is to just use the 2215 without a locking nut
Since the whammy range of the 2215 is not as wide as those floyd rose style whammy
if you set up your traditional nut properly
the tuning might/should hold quite well.

Then maybe can consider using locking tuners .....
