Nope not at all TS.
I have been buying and selling all my drum gear (yes, every single snare and cymbal I own is 2nd hand, except a few exceptions) for the past 6-7 years and I have never come across anybody who tried to scam me.
The closest I had was this Fillipino guy who insisted that there was a scratch on my Black Panther snare and asked for a lower price. Well, I don't sell for profit, so I gave him a $50 discount since the amount was more than enough to fund my next purchase.
The onus is always on the buyer to check for defects, and once the deal has been settled (ie. money and goods have been exchanged), there should be no need for the original seller to refund because you will never know what the other person has done to the item.
My advice to everybody here is that if something is really too good to be true, it can't be real - do your homework before making the purchase!
Just FYI, I had a police case a few years back involving a particular snare that was stolen. I had a hunch that it was stolen, but because it was dirt cheap (near mint condition, ~50% off retail price) and I was greedy, I paid for it and bought it. I ended up having to return the snare with no refunds for it - wrote it off as my mistake and from then on, I check thoroughly and I ask the seller where they got it from, why they're selling etc.
TS, I don't know what your story is, but if its true that you only called to demand for a refund 3 months after the transaction, then please for heaven's sake, stop it. You threatening and spamming the seller only makes you look and sound like an idiot.
If you truly think that you're wronged and you were cheated, by all means, go to the authorities.
