A band that aims to alert every one of the existing issues on this sunny island we call home. They combine the catchiness of pop with the aggressiveness of hardcore music.
Officially formed mid 2006, by the founder and frontman of band 3dash1, Singapore’s pop-punk-professionals and winner of The Straits Times, School of Rock Competition, Muhammad Ashik. Calling upon the service of his band mates, bassist Andhika and drummer Nashir, Shah, lead guitarist of Screamo/Hardcore band Hello My Concubine, and Shidah, vocalist of one of Singapore’s top ska band, Comic Strip.
So then there were five.
The band got off to an awesome start with their maiden show held at Youth Park for DoubleYellowLine’s Weekend Trip, 3rd Installment. Shortly after, they were offered shows at the grand opening of L Cube Studios and believe it or not, Ministry of Sound, Nokia’s Flow Event. Having played these shows, this young band garnered a respectable amount of fans, friends and supporters.
Even before their first show, the band has already made plans to record under Singapore’s best sound engineer/producer, Leonard Soosay, to produce their 5 track mini album. Their debut mini album, funded and planned for by the band themselves, is now halfway done. The band hopes to release the album before the New Year.
To top it all off, Deputy Siren is, informally, managed by highly experienced rocker and friend, Nazri Ismail, guitarist of legendary band, Urban Karma.
