interface and midi controller

hi,i m building a home studio for some rock instrumental stuff

so basically is just guitar--gt8--mac
other part is done using midi controller with vsti
any recommended interface?

btw,i need a midi controller too,with at least 60 keys ,and perhaps weighted key : ) any suggestion??

Do you prefer USB or Firewire or PCI ?

no PCI,prefer usb or firewire.(watever)
my budget is around 300+

for interfaces, you could try looking online. if you're looking at a mobile set-up, you should probably get something usb and bus-powered. the native instruments audio kontrol and lexicon station a are great, but not available in singapore. the only bus-powered firewire interface i know of is the edirol fa-66, but only on a 6-pin port (which is mac only, i believe)

for midi controllers, check out novation remotes. they've got good feel and they're -very- easy to map with the novation automapping function. m-audios are pretty decent too, and korgs probably have the most authentic feel. sinamex stocks some pretty good stuff.
