Installing EMGs on a Fender Stratocaster

Hey guys!
I'm keen to install EMG 81/85 combi on my Fender Stratocaster. Currently, it is already in a H-H Config as it was modded before i purchased it. As i know it, stratocasters DO NOT come with an inbuilt. The strat now has double dimarzio super distortion both in the neck and bridge. I'm like thinking of switching it to active pickups cus i cant get used to the sound of passive ones. Any idea how much would it cost? Or even the recommended shop to have it installed.

Thanks for reading this long crap and your friendly advises :)

You can check with Sound Alchemy, I know they charge about $30 to wire pickups, but since installing EMGs will require routing, I'm not sure how much extra it'll cost.

maybe they won't route it. just stick the battery into the existing cavity. thats what i heard from the guitar dude from luthers. but problem is changing batts will be a female dog.

installing EMGs in strats dont require routing.
just put the 9v battery under the pickguard.
of cos it'll be a hassle to change batts later, but you only have to do it once a yr or so anyway.

like most of the guys said, there shouldn't be a problem fitting the battery under the pickguard. not possible for Ibanez 550s unfortunately.

it is possible to route a battery compartment out for convenience sake. however, since it's an original Fender, I would advice not to only because it's going to affect the value at the end of the day.

Jim Root Stratocaster.
but that would involve routing on your current strat :/

Thanks for all the replies guys! Well...i bought it at a 2nd hand price alr so i doubt i will lose a lot from it right? I kinda need the EMGs to murder my neighbour's ears! HAHAH

Good choice, I also love the 81/85 combo!!
Don't worry abt changing batteries frequently, coz if u unplug your guitar when not playing they will last for more than 1 year!!
Just put it under the pickguard.

Oh, and I would suggest you do the installation yourself. It's super easy with EMGs!
Good luck driving your neighbors deaf, haha.

HAHAHA! I'm not very sure about it myself. I guess I'll bring it to a guitar shop and have them to settle it for me :)

lol. i don't think active pickups will boost the volume. changes the signature totally but volume can always be controlled.
