Inquiry: Budget guitars for beginners

Hi. I have only recently step into music playing and I'm interested to buy a guitar which is versatile and decent enough to play both metal and indie rock music. My friend recommended me an Ibanez RG321 for versatility especially and I think it's pretty good as I've tried his yesterday. But then, to stick my minds only to that guitar is really bad as I can't be flexible in my choices. Like for an example, I kept going around asking for the availability of the RG321. Really bad, heh?

I would love to have some of your opinions about what I should get. I play rhythm by the way if it does help. My budget would be around SGD350/-. 1st hand products is not necessary, really. I'm open to 2nd hands or even 3rd hands products. As long as its condition is not awful is fine. (Maybe the rating for its condition is at least 8 out 10?) And one more thing, where is it made from (eg. Korea, Japan, Indonesia) doesn't matter to me at all.

You could maybe list down the brand name and the model and if its not a problem for you to put a link about its information altogether then, I would be more than just be thankful to you.

This could benefit others who has the same problem as me too you see. So, help us would you?

Thanks a lot guys. I know fellow SOFTies has a big heart altogether.

i dont see rg321s in the ibanez webbie anymore... anyway, its a floyed equiped guitar... may not be as practical for you?

rg321 is NOT a floating bridge equipped guitar, it's a fixed bridge unit, review available here: http://soft.com.sg/web/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=18018

you might be referring to the RG320 instead (featuring an Edge III floating bridge)

Hi..thanks all. I bought a guitar (Cort M200) from a fellow softie just now. My friends and I went for jamming after that and I decided to try the guitar. I think it is good. Planning to buy an amp (Alpha 'N' Omega if I'm not mistaken) this coming Monday. Don't hit on me for being curious but is it okay? "Okay" as in the guitar and the amp? Because I understand that some people, they decide to sell their stuff because it doesn't suit them (eg like what type of music they play). Just so you know, I play indie rock music and maybe some avenged sevenfold's songs. Does my guitar and the amp which I'm planning to buy on Monday suit me?

Dear subversion, if you're reading this, can you please make a review for the amp?
Thanks alot. :D

^I hope you take good care of her dude! She was my pride and joy for the past 2 years. But alas, I'm gonna elope with my telecaster!!

for beginners, its best to get guitars with amp as a bundle...
i bought my first in a bundle for less than $250...
trust me, don't jump to epiphone or fenders...

hey why not , my first guitar was the fender american strat , its sexy as hell and well it lasted for 6 months before i got bored and bought a gibson , but heck i still prefer the fender , well if you're going on a budget , get an sx pack at $190 or slightly more expensive , a squire set at like 300++

the M200 is something i'd recommend for starters who aren't too particular with a guitar brand name- it's one of the better entry level units out there 8)
