Indonesian guitar CLONING !!!

I just thought that I have to share this with the rest of softies... those who do not know yet.

I just returned from Jakarta trip. Its not my first time but this time my friend brought me to a guitar shop located in Central Jakarta, it was really an amazing experience.

The shop actually produce their own guitar, and they can replicate anythign as long you provide them the exact specs. My friend was there to collect his order of replica guitar of his own original PRS McCarty, with exact woods type and the hardware that he bought himself from Singapore. The result was unbelievable! a 95% exact clone!!! 5% is if you noticed the difference in the finishing of the flamed top. Total cost (W/out hardwares > SGD $300+)

So, what worries me now, we never know if those "cloned" guitars are laying around on sale here in Singapore. For some newbie is probably hard to differentiate the flaws. Unless the guitar has some authentic stickers/ papers.

I realized what makes soft.com stands out from other guitar buy/sell froum, is at Soft.com other members can comment/question on the pictures posted if they happen to spot something is amiss. With this point, I do hope that future sellers will post their guitar picture online (as / Soft.com regulation) if the gear you are selling is leggit.

I attached their FB / Youtube link for atleast your awareness... they also sell Grade C (as they called it) replica guitar from as low as SGD 130/-.

Least but not last... Thank you SOFT.COM for your existence.... GBU...

Probably unintentional (or not), but it seems the entities you're warning others about is getting free 'advertising'. I believe it's suffice without mentioning their full contact details, reads like soft-selling to me, lol pardon the lame pun!

Ooops... I didn't see that in my earlier perspective... thanks for the reminder... I just wanted to proof that they do exist. Anyway they do not deliver to Singapore (you wouldnt want to, even the Indonesian buyer leaving outside Java wouldn't want neither... if you see their FB there are a few complaints of goods arrive in bizarre conditions! Its only as good as if you go there personally...)

* Dear Admin , if the post deemed to flaunt soft.com Policy, please edit my original post (delete those links) as I can't edit it now. Thank you.

This stinks of marketing BS. Don't all these types of post feel like that.

Chill dude. I clearly understood your post. I've been in forums for a long time and have seen posts like yours numerous times. Yeah, it's nice of you to warn others. But do you think it's necessary to post the link of the maker and going into details as to how much the guitars cost and all? A replica will always be a replica even though some well made ones could cost all the way up to 20k usd, heard of Max Les Paul? The only replicas that shouldn't be on Soft are the horrible made China ones with brands like Gibson and Fender on the headstock. I've seen an increasing number of those useless "Firewood" being sold over here...

No disrespect, but I for one am thankful to the TS for highlighting the existence of these blatant forgeries, and how easily they can be made available here in Singapore.

There is an Indonesian seller, regularly in the buy/sell section here, who flies in and out of the country for the sole purpose of trading guitars. Sells/trades guitars he obtains from Indonesia here, he also obtains guitars from softies to sell in Indonesia. I'm not implying that there is a danger you might swap your authentic Gibson for a "cloned" PRS, but you never know eh?
