Hi, i'm a newbie to guitars.
Where can i find ibanez guitar in singapore besides swee lee.
and which guitar is recommended for a beginner with a budget of 700.
:?

HI 8)

Ibanez-> swee lee is the official distributor here. if you are interested, i can show you what's worth it. i'll be dropping by the BB showroom on 26th... let me know.

no, i'm not an employee of the shop...

A good starter wld be Ibanez SA260FM, H-S-S config for a wide range of tones, trouble free bridge. If u want a thinner neck profile, RG321MH. Fixed bridge tho so no whammying. But then again, most newbies dun actually need a whammy. Hey sub, i'm thinking of going too. Mind if i follow u?

BB Showroom is Bras Besah Showroom. Good offers? I don't think so

yes that's what BB showroom stands for. 'good offers' isn't my promise to you, but if you are interested in any of the models + it's a confirmed purchase, i can put a good word up for you...

I am eyeing the SA260 too. Maybe get during June sale. But with the H-S-S Config is there any disadvantage? Mostly Ibanez are HSH or HH, i notice. Why is it called a Starter guitar only? I have to change it after a while?

Also, what is the difference btween a SA series guitar and the S-Prestige series guitars? I know that the price differs by alot too..

1. musn't assume there's a june sale...

2. pickup configuration is personal. ibanez is appealing to proponents of single coils with the SA260/ SAS36. IMO it's a good move since majority of the ibanez guitars are humbucker inclined.

3. why is the SA260 a 'beginner' model?

4. Prestige models are top of the line units offered by the manufacturer, hence the price diff

Ehh..in case i'm misunderstood i said the SA260FM is a good starting guitar, but i didn't say it was a STARTER'S guitar. A starter's guitar is one that is bare basics, usually H-H, vintage trem, sucky PUs(subjective though)..........etc.

o i get the difference. Is there any difference in sound with a reversed headstock compared to not-reversed headstock??

nope dun realli tink so. its more for visual purposes. some ppl liek the revesed headstock coz of teh way it looks compared to a norm headstock.

Yeah..........best 2 get a non-reverse if u've got an angled head. Ur treble strings are more to break than bass strings even on a normal headstock and with reverse-angled, they'll wear even faster.

Tuning stability is excellent, but its a bit stiff. I suggest u get an Edge instead, smoother and tuning stability is jus a bit lower than ZR.
