lol really in a spot atm. went to jalan at penin for amp then walk in guitar77 and found the omen 6 fr=.= actually decide on RG liao but now dunno which one to choose siols. Dont wanna waste my one month of hard earned money :(.

What would you guys pick? any reasonS? Appreciated thanks

have you tried both guitars? why did you pick the Ibanez initially? what made you consider the schecter subsequently?

well the ibanez seemed the best around that range initially.(budget 600-700 for guitar). and i have read many reviews n demos about it(incl urs).
Then i saw some threads about the omen 6, some of our fellow softies have it, like in the schecter appreciation thread. Tried it at guitar77 today, wasnt bad at all. ( If u call trying just handling the guitar and getting the feel of it. cuz i r total beginner. getting lessons after buying a guitar).

And yes i know both my choices are odd. But i just want a guitar with a floyd rose bridge, contrary to all the people advising me not to. Guess its becoz my fave band is a7x and i wish to play their songs someday ...

it's really ok to start with a double whammy locking bridge, as long as you are committed to deal with it in every way & not give up- my first electric guitar was my RG560 & it sports an Edge dual action, locking bridge; no regrets 8-) the common advice to beginners is to focus on learning & not let the hardware shenanigans put you off.

So have you "tried" the RG?

If so, what exactly are the differences you feel?

My opinion, go for the one you feel better with. Personally, I'll consider neck thickness, finish and how it balances out when I wear with a strap, among other things. Sometimes it's just FEEL. You can't actually define FEEL cause it's different from feel.

Wouldn't one consider the weight and how it feels against your body? Some may sound fantastic but it feels odd. Like using a Nightcrawler or Explorer. Odd shaped gutiars.

get my RG570 ITS MADE IN JAPAN!

shameless self promotion aside, you'd do better getting a used japanese RG, the indo RG350 i had was really crappy, maybe i had a bad piece.

and somehow the low ended schecters dont appeal to me..

Go for Ibanez!

resale value better ...

=.=, not gonna sell this for a looooooong time.

@LadyinTears : wish i could, but dont wanna spend another 2 months working for it :(, and i scared i halfway lose interest siols
@ jumpin : Both body same wat fat strat style. So i guess they sorta feel same lorz. maybe RG bit better cos i like teh sexy pickguard

Aiya i guess i make up my mind liao la. Ordered the RG through bgwguitars. should be a decent piece (i hope).
Brendon has EXCELLENt service
