As ive known that Ibanez prestige wizard neck of those 3pc/5pc maple have those kind of a "dry" and smooth feel, so to speak.. unlaquered finish. But since Ive a sweaty palms, my biggest worry is whether those ibanez prestige wizard neck are prone to get a sweat marks which can be really ugly cosmetically, Since its like unlaquered and no protective layer? Hmmmm...

Im not sure whether somehow these fast ibanez prestige wizard neck have some sort of a thin layer of protection to prevent from having sweat marks? Do they? I was thinking of getting a prestige, so this is my biggest concern.

Ive owned an RG321mhwk before.. and it has those dry neck finish too. The picture below shows the ugly sweat stain marks that were caused by my sweaty palms. See how damaging and ugly it can be.

this type of finish will inevitably end up like that over prolonged playing. if you wish to address it, get it lacquered by a pro 8-) but it defeats the purpose; ibanez Wizard necks (majority) are meant to be like that.

If were to send for a laquer job, I guess the quality of the neck would be affected, in terms of tonality and feel? Sigh. Thanks to my sweaty palms, I have to list out buying the prestige model i supposed. Sigh. :(

But i dont know whether is it ideal to send it for maybe a thin layer of laquer job to the neck in order to protect against sweat mark stains? Any opinion guys?

If you lacquer it you defeat the purpose of an ibanez neck, with its smoothness being its biggest selling point.

And also you affect the resale...

I have sweaty palms, but if I have the $$$, I would get the Prestige.

Aesthetics don't really matter to me. In fact, if I could get my hands on a sweet sounding Les Paul that has a totally broken in neck, I'll get it. Adds to the feel.

Nothing comes close (my opinion! not universally applicable) to an Ibanez Wizard neck. So I wouldn't let an issue such as staining stop me from getting one.

Wash your hands before you play?
And wipe down your guitar after.

If it really gets gunky, using a guitar finish cleaner might help.

In my experience of owning many Ibanez guitars, the only guitar that I encountered with such marks is the RG321MH. Coincidence?

Anyway, you should try asking the people at Jemsite.com. I can safely say that everyone of them has owned an Ibanez guitar before.
