Ibanez Gax70

Heyy, I recently got interested in electric guitars and am probably looking for one soon... been eyeing the Ibanez Gax70 or Epiphone Les Paul Special 2... What do you think of these 2, and how much are they?
And taking i've been playing guitar for about a year (acoustic ), do u think the guitars are suitable? Haven't tried them, but probably will soon tho...

The GAX70 was my very first electric guitar, which is still in my possession till this very day. A couple of things i like about it.

1) The extremely smooth neck.
2) Smooth tuners.
3) Decent tone.

The only thing i don't like about it is the fact that it neck dives when playing with a strap.

In my opinion, I think it's better u get something else. How about state ur budget, da music u play etc. We could give u better recommendations.

Haha, I on the other hand have heard rather negative things about the Epiphone's quality for lower-end models such as the Special 2. Between these two guitars, I suppose the GAX70 would be a better choice. Definitely costs below $400 I think.

There're Les Paul Standard copies at Peninsula Plaza / Excelsior basement (where most of the guitar shops seem to be these days) by brands like Rally, Kgarage, etc. Perhaps check those out too. Those also cost below $400 I think.

yea 2nd the rally les pauls. they're pretty sweet sounding, even with the stock pickups. they're after all epiphones w/o the branding lol

I'm hoping for the amp/cables to be in the $400 too...
Are the sound of the rallys as good as like the epiphone les paul standards?

If you die-die want to keep everything below $400, note that Ibanez Gios cost above $300 too, so perhaps you might want to look at alternative brands. Remember that an amplifier costs from close to $100 and above, and a good cable is in the range of $15 and above. All-in-all, Ibanez will still exceed your budget.

City Music has electric guitar packages featuring Line 6 amplifiers and Craftsman guitars. They have Les Paul / singlecut copies and they're not bad too. Cables and picks are included in the packages. All you'll need to start learning is there. I feel that these packs are great for beginners because the amplifiers are very versatile and have a wider range of tones and effects than the typical starter-pack amplifier. The Craftsman packages are below $400 if I recall correctly.

btw do u guys know where to get the best price for guitars & amps? bought my acoustic from davis guitar, not too sure about their pricing, but i know fer sure their service is damn good... where do u guys get your stuff?

Busteraider i have tried the rally gl 300 and les paul special 2 before.I would definitely recommend that you get the rally because of it tone quality and the feel of the neck is better than the epiphone you can get it at standard value in woodlands i think its 300 plus

do consider both tone & playability when choosing your instrument

hmmm if u wanna get a guitar and amp ard $400. u can try a timbre sr200 set. $320 bao ka liao. plus the guitar alone is worth more than $320. i've tried it and its damn good playability. but thats cos i like strats. u should go try it urself to see how.

bro you can check at standard value amp i would recommend mega amp copy of the fender frontman can check out how it sound at youtaube and both item available at standard value
