Hi there. I'm 14 yrs old and I want to learn drums but I don't know where to learn. I need some place that's cheap. My brother learnt drumming at Yamaha but he still sucks. Is there any other place?
I only want to master the basics then after that I'll try to learn on my own.

Re: Need advice

now cmon...is that the way to talk about your brother?go google drum leesons in singapore man, there's a whole lot of them going on right now..i recommend the music lab or u can approach "alvinthedrummer" in the forums,i think he has lessons too

You can also check out Music Clef at Suntec or Toa Payoh. I heard the teachers there are pretty good and the rates reasonable.

www.tigerbill.com

i learned a lot from there. do check out the forum, many many gr8 ideas n tips. also, if u have a problem, the owner of the site himself helps out by replying to your problem with drums.

good luck :)

Thanks Churnz! The music lab's website is www.themusiclab.com.sg.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info =) but my dad made me enroll at Yamaha. I take back what I said about my brother lol. Hes a good drummer, my drumkit sucks thats why he sounded terrible. I sticked some cloths under the skins and now it sounded better.

i think u can self-learn at home. i learnt at home but i didn't have a drumset. u can listen to the songs u wanna learn & u imagine there's a drumset in front of u. & u just play like you have the drumset loh, like u know the hi-hat use right hand snare use left hand and so on. then by practising u will get better. :)

well you cant get too good doing that. i agree listening to songs and visualizing the beats is essential. just listening and absorbing an artiste in action is probably the best. but a proper drumset and proper practicing with exercises is also fundamental.

one more thing. if you wanna go far in drums a teacher is very important. probably the most crucial one in your learning development. so get a good one. self learning can only take you to a certain level and at a slower pace.

hello, if you're looking for drum lessons, i can give... learn rudiments, independent strokes, tripplets and what have you.. i've been playing for 12 years so if you're interested and we can further discuss

Yeah...Music Clef reminds me of Jimmy Lee, a wonderful Fusion Drummer, but he does not teach Basic drummings.
