i lost interest in music or what?

u guys got feel like me like this before or not..and what u do?

im playing punk rock... but nowadays.. when i try to make a song.. no matter what 4 chords progression is it.. i just find it typical.. and dont feel like playing anymore.. any chords progression i come up with also sian... just feel like doing some thing different.. and new... like never ever started before... whether listenin to joe satch, steve vai, malmsteen or dt.. or blink 182, bowling for soup also sian....

den when i do a solo or something i will feel as 'a typical type of solo' like a typical type of pentatonic or whatever.. other then chromatics.. dont feel like pickin up the guitar to play anymore.. like nothing to play...

den write songs also.. my last time lyrics and the ones now to compare now sucks...

i think i just lost my groove like the other thread of losing grove.. no feeling to rock anymore :cry:

nowadays just pick up guitar and anyhow whack a pentatonic scale.. den anyhow do some tapping... bend the string for some funny weird sound.. den pose some pose in my room with my guitar on :lol: den put back liao... :roll: :cry: :cry:

but weird leh.. feel like listening to pop :D

u`re just going thru wat we call the `brain dead` season....explore more music lah...then u can improve on ur skills...
try latin,ska,funk,rap.....anything man....
just chill 4 a week or 2..u`ll b ok after that
 
play avril.

woo, she's hot. or go see her gig lah. haha, then u'll be motivated by her 'pro' guitarist.

yeah.. actualli i got these feelins all the time.. only this time might be more severe.. used to stop for a few days without touch guitar.. hmmmm
 
Hey gordan man,

Like Dirt said, listen to more music. Other genres which you normal dont listen to etc. Trust me, I survived 11 years of RUT seasons. 8)
 
Sometime its good to put down whatever you are doing and focus on other things for a while.

My take on punk rock, is that the variation and styles are very limited. So you will reach a burnt out stage quite fast.

Which is why if you look at Metal, the following is so much more diverse. Some of the techniques are even taken from classical teachings. So the learning can practically never be finished.

I think it be a good idea to pickup other genres of music, also if you never had a chance to work on your foundation (theory), better start now. Or you will be stuck there forever playing some blink cover only for the rest of your live. I not joking.

So that the 1st take you will be thinking, "What the hell am I doing !!!!????"

2nd take: "I think I look like a MORON!!!"

3rd take: "Yeah...CONFIRM I am a TOTAL IDIOT!!!! I am giving up playing as of now, and tomorrow look for mikemann to sell all my guitar stuffs for peanuts."

invest in a a wah pedal, It adds alot of feeling to simple scales, and it kinda adds a new dimension. u might also wanna try out some weird fx pedal
 
Go for Rock on Singapore .... i last time also go army come back no drive to play.... but went for 3 nights straight of "Spread the love" ... now the fire come back liao... been practicing very hard... in fact just picked up the bass like a week after that.... hahha...

Oh and also another way is to get some music kaki jam....few weeks ago my friends came over to my house and jam through out the night... haha... shiok ar....

wah... so many good advices.. thanks guys!

i guess the best for me now is to stop playing for sometimes... even i know sometimes after i stopped onli for 2 days.. my fingers became so stoned :(

wah so many instrument wan me to take :D.... bz liao..


actualli i wanted drums... but no tutor lol.. my drummer also beginner himself...... bass got play abit lah... can steal my 2 bassists basses :lol:
