what do u guys think of the sound?

and hw to i get the closest kind of sound from my current settings to the ones paul gilbert uses?

hmm...I don't know how I can help you, but the distorted tone in the clip sonds nothing like PG, dude.

come to think of it, my v8 sounds better.

from your clip, I suggest you pump up your mids. and use less distortion.

try getting a more organic sounding dist... more mids.. less treble..

hmm actually, actually, i like the tone from his terrifing guitar trip video, sounds very smooth,.

i dont really like heavy mids sounds.

prefer smooth sounds with lots of crunch and harmonics.

smooth = mids ...

scooped is mainly for metal rythm...etc... ... soloing with a scooped tone is quite bright...

when you play live or jam at higher volumes.. without mids you will simply dissapear when your whole band kicks in.

well less distortion always enables you to sound better.. clearer.
EQ wise ..its really up to your taste..

how come tone zone and Air norton sounds worse then v7 v8?... OMG that is really IMPOSSIBLE. i suggest you bring it to a tech ...and ask him check the wiring... or ask brandon to see ... cus bran did it himself also...

I've got an air norton installed in the neck of my les paul. Honestly it's a beautiful sounding pickup. Why do you say it's worse?
