Humming sound

Hi all..

I got a prob with my guitar.. when i plug in to my amp..there a reasonable loud humming sound. But when i touch any metal part of the guitar body ( eg strings or bridge ), the sound went off. If i let go my hand.. The humming is back..

is it because of a ground problem?

Well in doesnt affect much cos when im playing i obviously touch the strings

But if i need to let go from it, need to adjust the volume knob to 1.. the humming will be gone.. haha..

I dont use much line6 stuffs but from ur description, i think most probably is ur grounding bro. oh why not u try in with other guitars? if all got humming then its not the guitar after all.i only had this prob once when i change my pickups and did not solder the grounding properly

grounding problem get a 3 pin for your amp

I can put a bet right now from all my experiences and it leads straight to grounding.had it on my earlier cheap guitars.Its most likely equipment which doesnt have a ground pin*3 Pin Plug*or its the guitars grounding.Could be the jack*has happened to me* could be the wirings not done totally right to expose some wires here and there.Try to get it fixed it can be a shock hazard =D

ground ur amp, change to 3pin, solves most problems! bring to a electrician if you're afraid of cutting the wrong wire, although there's a guide to it!

about my amps -
i have both 2 & 3 pins amp, dont know abt u ppl but no diff to me

abt 1 of guitar scenario -
in my case its not the amp, its the electronics grounding prob maybe
dont know how to solve yet too much to troubleshoot pickups, pots & switch
or maybe the wires i use in them, would it make a difference normal wires or is there such a thing as wires for guitars only?

I also think problem lies in the grounding in the guitar..

Later gona re solder and change wires grounding of guitar. thanks guys!

maybe it will help.. wires maybe somehow burn inside and lost connection somehow.. maybe the noise comes from there.

fiq yours single coil or humbuckers?
if tremolo can see the grounding wire solded on the claw
if tom bridge a bit difficult to see if its loose, routed inside thru body...

i got a feeling the culprit is our humbucker wiring..
