Humbucker help.

ok. I got a Epiphone SG Special. Adler body, maple neck. So wood is pretty bright here. Play through Peavey (bandit 112 - very rarely cuz no chance, Rage 158 at home ) or marshall 15 watt(VS or MG - most of e time). All amps are miced into PA.
If it is any help, I have a Boss SD-2, crybaby, dd-3 and dan-o chorus.

I go from playing some U2 type delays, to some woman tone leads. Hard chuggy rhythm is also appreciated. Straight ahead rhythm playing under distortion also liked.

As i play in a band setting i would like to cut through during solos. not so much using the woman tone, but the faster stuff. probably using the bridge pickup.

Hope u can help me out. Seymour duncans preferred though I am totally open to suggestions.

Thanks guys. Information provided has always been useful.

a little difficult to find a certain model that fits all your specs. the perfect pickup for blues crunch & restrained drive tones is IMO the Alnico II Pro humbucker. however, this one doesn't do too well if you do palm muting, high gain settings excessively.

Duncans aside, Gibson's Burstbucker models is a versatile unit that would please you. but i'm a DUncan fan... 8)

Dimarzio Breeds.

Vintage PAF tones but with modern power, and a huge dose of mids.

Take a listen to some stuff here, http://music.download.com/Shredcows everything except X2N showcase was played with a mahogany Ibanez S520EX with Breeds.

And yeah, the Breeds have strong bass too, so you will be able to get your chugga stuff easily, roll off the gain to do some blues and the neck Breed is very smooth, its easy to get that woman tone.
