How to sing low pitch?

I don't know, but I've got a couple of habits for learning the lows..

I just practice some scales, like the usual, but going lower instead of higher. I hum them as well, to establish the sensation in the chest voice. I prefer not to try singing songs with low notes yet until the latter bit's more comfortable, that's the only tip I can share actually?

The only advice I can offer is to warm up fully, get the feeling of your middle range, and see how far down you can take it. When I hit low notes I am very relaxed, but still managing to keep my cords together somehow. I find it very difficult too.

btherl> Are there any tips for hitting the low range in SLS?

It's funny but I always found that the lower range is harder to learn, but the hype's always in the higher range... Hmm... we should have more pop songs in low ranges, kinda like how Toni Braxton did for "unbreak my heart".. It's the whole taboo that high ranges take more skill I suppose, because our music culture these days writes them as so...

Kinda like the high-range fans just wanna learn to break glass with their voice and join the X-Men or something.. Well, that was my dream when I was a kid anyway :P Who needs tasers if you've got a highnote to deafen your enemies... LOL LOL.. sorry, I ran out of coffee...

I've never asked about low notes in SLS. But I think the basic theory applies - keep your cords together and at speech level, and the rest will take care of itself.

I think higher voices are more popular for 2 reasons - it's easier to sing a nice sounding note at a higher pitch, and higher pitches are just naturally more attention-getting. Things like ambulance sirens and "attention please" bells are always high pitched.

In my experience, people who speak in the higher range of their chest voice are far more interesting to listen to than people who speak in a low chest voice. I think it's just something about how humans are designed. Higher notes sound more excited and vibrant.

low pitch singing

My voice is naturally high but i prefer singing in low pitch

Got any tips to sing low pitch?

i guess this is natural for many of us singers. we always want a voice that is different from what we have. at least, most of my students will tell me that. ;-p

well, for low pitch singing, you will need to let your voice connect to your chest voice, and start singing from there. try to sing with an 'AH' vowel, because that allows you to connect to your lower pitch sounds better. then when you have found a good chest voice sound, try to connect it to your higher voice positions.. but i must warn you, this will not be easy, and it will feel funny at first for you to find your chest voice sounds. may even sound like it is not yr voice, if you are more used to talking or singing with a higher and lighter sound.

also, do not try to press down your low pitch notes too low, or else you may end up pressing down on yr throat or worse still, your vocal cords. instead, a general guideline is, the lower your notes, the higher you should think. and the higher the note you sing, the lower you should find your foundation in. ;-p

My method: CHANGE KEY OF SONG!

P.S.

You must play an instrument.

haha good one!

it's good to know your vocal range too. if not you will not know whether you have improved or whether you can hit certain particular low notes in a song.

the lowest i can go is only an F#. was a tenor in choir haha. had a choir bass friend who could reach a low D. powerful guy haha.

In order to sing low notes, u have to practise the muscles in the vocal cords to open as big as possible, as well as open your mouth wider so that it makes the air tunnel bigger.

Drop ur jaws hard so tat u hit the bass notes... remember, the bigger the air gaps, the lower the notes, opposingly, the smaller the air gaps the higher tha notes.

Try picturing the brass family, with the trumpet being highest pitch and tuba being the lowest pitch ~
