just got a acoustic recently in which i removed the pickguard leaving behind a pile of glue stain. and in my adventurous bid to remove it it left a very light scratch towards the lower bout of the pick guard.

need some advice on how to remove the glue stains and if possible the scratch as well, many thanks in advance!

For removing adhesive stains I use this made in Australia product called Orange Power, it's a solution containing orange oil, extremely effective on all sorts of glue and tape stains I've tried. Just putting a drop and rubbing lightly. There should be other brands as well, basically orange oil products.

BUT I do not know if it will have side effects on your guitar's finish.

Can try using a rag soaked with a little Turpentine... wipe generously over glue stain and then try rubbing off the glue using the same rag.. won't effect the guitar finish. Or can also try using guitar polish...Good Luck!
