How to loosen the string tension on the guitar?

The strings tension is fixed, after you tuned a set of strings, it's suppose to maintain the same tension, thats where you get your music note from.

Maybe what you are asking is how to get a more comfortable feel, which could be due to the action of the string (height between string and fret).

One way, get your guitar proper setup. Poor setup guitars are difficult to play on. Bring to a guitar shop for that.

Change type/brand of strings, different brands does give a little difference in feeling. Note you could sacrifice tone for comfort.

Change your guitar, some guitar have necks which are very easy to play on.

Me I just charge $20 to adjust according to what the player desire to what best his guitar can be adjusted till.

Normally accompanied with a string change.

well.
i have a guitar which has this problem..the string is very far away from the frets..kinda hard to play..when i lower the string via the tremolo..i get fretbuzz on the first few frets.i'm not in the know about setting the truss rod so i didnt touch it at all..and the neck sumhow is flexible..its not like the solid necks on some guitars..old guitar i have here..any suggestions?

ok..
this is whai i intend to do btw..
i want to change the bridge to a floyd rose model or any other floating bridge..
i got it from an uncle ..he says its reli damn antique he's in his fifties and he bought it in his 20s..i changed the humbuckers a few times and there is a crack at the neck joint area could that have caused it??(th flexibility i mean)
the body is plywood ..will routing a floatin tremolo cavity affect its strength??
and ..if the truss rodd snapped, what can i do to remedy?

Plywood body guitar are normally at the cheapest kind of guitar. I'd suggest that you get a new guitar be better. Don't wast your time on this one, should be end of lifespan long ago already.

actually its nt the action... i noe hw to do the basic setup (though i didn't set-up this one) i got a more pro guy to do it for me...

there was no prob before n after the set-up.. but i had very bad fret-buzz after a few wks...so i brought the guitar back to the guy n he said the frets were "poppin' out", so he glued n hammered all of them back down... it was after this tt i felt it was more difficult to do bending on the guitar...felt very "tight"
