I don't quite understand your issue... is it that you feel your strings are too "floppy", and you'd like to feel the tension of the strings when doing bends etc?
Perhaps you could share with us what music genres you play, and whether you're more rhythm or lead inclined.
Many people (including myself) go after the Ernie Ball Slinkies because, well, they're slinky and all kinds of lead playing including bending is pretty easy on these strings.
However, if you read up many rhythm player's set-ups, some of them tend to use heavier gauge strings because they need not perform so much fretboard trickery, but rather focus more on laying down a solid rhythm sound. One of these proponents is Malcolm Young of AC/DC.
ohh , yeah i want to increase my string tension cause somehow when i go fast picking the string "slack" then its kinda difficult to do tremolo picking or fast pick .
like instead of the string staying in place , it moves with my guitar pick a lot
i think u are using too much of ur pick to pick the strings... try using just a tiny tip of ur pick...
it's a good pick to shred with since its a hard pick, but make sure u using only the tip. its easy to do with a jazz 3 since they are sharper than standard picks
ive been using the jazz3's for eons, and havent found anything else to play faster with man. like mr wolf there said, use the tip of the pick. very very effective.
personally i think you dont need light strings and heavy picks to pick fast. i can use .88 picks and 11s-52s and pick the same speed as i do when using dunlop jazz 3s and 9s.
dont look too much into these things, just continue practicing.
i dont understand why you would want to increase tension or why the strings would feel slack when you play.
you are playing in standard E tuning right?
increasing the gauge would be a good idea as well as it might give you a tighter feel when bending strings and such.
