how to form a working band?

hi to all,

abt to purchase a GT-10 and sold my pedals.
and arm with a few pairs of guitar.

now the question is how to form a working band?

i guess many bros here have similiar experiences.

i am a rythm and lead.
and intend to join one.. or form one myself?
regardless getai, or pub or wedding event. whichever.
just want to use my skill to make some $$

anyone can share some ideas?

To form a working band is not that difficult. Just get people together and see how it goes. Must play top 40's and songs that are up to date. It's not about the band's preference but the market audience for this case. I'm talking about the typical pub and night joints market if you are interested in. Getting a contract now a days is not easy as you have to really compete with people who've been around in the market longer than you and foreign bands that are getting cheaper payments. Also there are bands who play for free or pay to play.

One option, get an agent and leave things to them. If you have connection around easier, you may move in by yourself. But the budget now a days are really terrible. If you're heading this as a bread and butter, it may not be worthy. Alot of musicians play 'part-time'. As and when required.

Problems with bands are quite common as we're talking about people. No show, late, jealousy, incompetent, problem with drinking, problem with women, etc....
