I have learnt some scales and sometimes solo to jam tracks or songs..

But i feel that my solos need some speed here and there..

I have been trying to play the minor petantonic scale with metronome to increase my speed but its nt really effective.. Is there a better way?

erm the most answers here will be to use a metronome and slowly build your way up, theres no short cut to speed my friend. you wanna go fast, you'll have to start slow ;)

Ok... So i just have to push my self until i reach my desired speed? like everyday +2bpm or something..

speed comes with accuracy.

accuracy comes from doin ur runs slow.

well wad i've done to increase my speed a wee bit..

is to go slow...when im familiar with the notes..

wait..dun go faster yet...stay at the same speed..juz take ur eyes off the board..

try not looking and goin at the same speed.

just do what deathism says. make sure when you increase your speed in the metronome you mantain that accuracy. sometimes you find if frustating but continue and you will confirm increase your speed.

trust me..try wad i do..

if u keep doin it..u'll end up "feeling" the board and wont have to look at it while playing..(can connect with the audience while soloing)..

after you've done that..u'd have gained some finger independence and strength..

stamina?? not too sure tho.

relax..must be relaxed..be relaxed but at the same time have control over over ur pickin and fretting.

when ur relaxed..sometimes u'll juz find urself goin faster naturally.
