how much gain do you use?

if im right theres this stunt you can use with high gain....

im not sure how its done, but is it like striking a note or chord or whatever and letting it ring in front the amp at the pickup area to get a screaming effect?

just enquiring

thanks ;)

feedback they call it, hmm wanna know tho, you guys run the amp's drive with the addition of pedals or just the amps drive? haha my amp is always on clean and is driven by my pedal whos gain stands at 3 oclock

well i do sometimes kick in the distortion from my pedals (ds-1, jimi hendrix fuzz..) with the overdrive from the amp, but not that often cuz too much feedback isnt good either...

the best tho, would be combining the right amount of overdrive with your pedal distortion....cuz it somehow "smoothens" the tone..

cheers

;)

for me- depends on what i wish to play...

smooth jazz: minimal drive, often the lower gain settings of my Tubescreamer + amp's clean channel.

heavy: 2 set-ups: (1)no pedals, i prefer my amp's gain at maximum effect (2)restrained amp drive + drive pedal to boost.

for those of us who think the excessive background hissing is getting the better of your tolerance, do consider the noise gate, example:

it really varies, since there are 4 drives on my board, dependant on genre's and songs, it'll change.

but most of the time, its crunchbox at 1 o clock, korg 104ds at max. ts9dx at 3 o clock, bd2 at 9 o clock

I prefer using a dirt pedal on my amp's clean channel.
Gain is usually at 10-1 o clock, but it really depends on what I'm playing :P

Whats with the time... Hahaha

For me, depends... When it comes to metal, its max. hard rock, 8/10. Softer stuff... I reduce here and there... No current favourite gain setting but my treble and bass are always to maximum.
