Hi everyone I'm keen to know how long did it take for you guys to go jamming when you first started playing the drums/bass/guitars... Did you go there alone or with a group of friends?

Usually, ppl would go to studios with their bands. That's also for my case.
Don't really get what you mean by 'how long'...

Sorry bout my English haha. :) What I was trying to say is that, did it take you months or years (when you started learning how to play an instrument seriously) to go jamming..?

My first time going to the jamming studio when I was 13. Started playing classical guitar when I was 12, and so it's about a year for me. But during that time, I can't even afford an electric guitar...so I was blurr like sotong...on how to adjust the amplifier and things like that. Got my first distortion pedal when I was 14 but still no electric guitar and that was in 1982. We jammed at Groove Maker...was then in New World. But now...not a trace of it anymore. Hehehe!!! But things will be different now....electric guitar is much more affordable.

First time performing - Pri 4 - school choir ...

2nd time sec 4 - Teacher's day concert

first time in studio in sec 4 ... started as a drummer, then later as the front man vox, then joined another band as guitarist

Tetra - oh yes .. Groove Maker - famouse owner "Ah Yang" and his grump ferocious dog called Yoko ...

Yeah bro fgl, Ah Yang is the guy but didn't remember Yoko the dog. The first few songs we played was Hey Jude, Stairways to heaven, Yesterday, I started a joke and Always somewhere. But all half past six one ar. Hehehe!

hmmm picked up the guitar for abt 3 months b4 i went for my 1st jamming session...didnt know shit abt eq and pedals. just plug in straight to the amp and play. worst part is i didnt know anybody in the band. all look like total strangers...and this wierd ah beng with blonde hair that sticks out in the crowd scared the shit outta me. can tell u i made a fool of myself in that 1st jamming. i was damn slow at changing chords and didnt even manage to complete learning the songs -_-

Nah. Your english is fine. It's just me who didn't really get the question.
Well, i learned to play guitar when 2 years ago, on December. That time I picked up on acoustic guitar.
Only by this year, I started on electric guitar. Started jamming with friends 1 month later. Managed to jam properly after many times of jamming together. =)

Oh I see. =D Seems like fgl started playing at a pretty young age! Are all of you learning from music schools?

For me, i'd been learning classical (13), then i picked up acoustic (14), then electric (15), and finally bass (16). I stepped into my first jamming studio with a coupla close friends from church when i was 15. The studio was Encore!, which used to be at Teck Chye food street near my house, they relocated to Katong quite awhile back and i've never been there since. Loved the studio, big with great decor and in-house equipment. Played a coupla easy songs like All The Small Things (i have not gotten over this yet lol) and some christian stuff. I don't jam regularly bcos of school, but i was back to jamming this year since a coupla of school friends and i decided to play for chapel in school, so we had to practice. My first jam was ok, at least i knew the chords, but when they began to solo i declined lol.

Played the guitar for about 7 years before having a proper band because parents didnt like me playing the guitar

haha!! i admire ur perserverance man!! if i had to go some secret place everytime i picked up the guitar at my infancy stages, i'd prob have been done with all things guitar by now haha
