how did he suddenly add distortion at 0:47 one?
Cant see his guitar body, so my guess is that he quickly adjusted the pickup switch? Got so busy one ah?

He used a distortion Pedal..It can be activated by the leg.

actually i'm pretty sure he already had it on at the beginning of the video, just that at 0:47, the rhythm guitar in his backing track started playing with distortion, so it made his distortion more obvious.

from the moment he started playing, his distortion was alrdy on.

he rolled down his volume knob to get a cleaner tone, and once he wanted distortion, just roll back the guitar knob to 10.

he definitely didnt step on a distortion pedal. its way too smooth a transition.
