how do u remove stains from stickers on guitars.

why are you sticking stickers on your guitar anyway?! Try using scotch tape and keep sticking and pulling off, gets the shit off without using any chemicals liable to screw the paintjob.

Safest way is to use baby powder. If it's safe for a baby's butt it's safe for the guitar =D

Seriously, add it to the sticky residue and keep rubbing with your thumb and they will come off.

Lighter fluid or naptha is safe for nitro finishes and definitely safe for poly. Unless your guitar is some boutique finished in french polish, the lighter fluid will be safe.
