The staffs from Swee Lee told me that Hofner is a brand from Germany. However, the violin was made in China. I don't quite get it...does it mean that it is non-authentic?

Let me give u an example. Ibanez is a jap brand but some are made in korea, china and indonesia. Does that mean that they are non-authentic?

second query would be- is it a violin or are you referring to the violin bass?

Hofner violins comes in two ranges.
We do have a range that is made in China that sells from $150 to $400 plus. Unlike other China made violins, these models does not give you a bright squeaky tones. Instead, they project a warmer and mellow feel which is similar to the characteristic of the German made ones.

There are still a range of German made violins by Hofner and usually they will be priced from $1000.00 and above.

Please feel free to drop by our Bras Basah Showroom for a try out. ;)

Cheers,
M.I
