Any opinions on the above model peeps? I intend to get one in honey blonde. Tried it in swee lee and felt it was amazing, but want to hear it from you guys :D

And when is the upgraded version coming in to singapore?

Hmm... i dun really like the tone of the bass, sounds a bit robbed of its low end, but tone is subjective la.

i tried the highway at sweelee b4, and didn't really appeal to me. The finish of the body also looks a bit... ermm... cheap? Made in America, but i think some of the parts are Mexican (err... correct me if i'm wrong) And for the price, my personal opinion is a japanese fender will do more justice to its price

Ok, maybe this is bad advice, cos i'm anti-highway 1 to begin with... =)

im also anti highway, the price is ridiculous, might as well get jap fender, you'll get much better quality, sound, basically everything, hahaha

haha,i have this brand new MIA p bass, sunburst with maple neck, but the problem is that the bass is old stock, but still brand new nonetheless....selling for 1.4k neg....just helping friend to clear his stock of old bass,if you ever interested in it =P

The new highway 1s look a tad more promising... with a badass 2 bridge. so if you got to get that one, wait for the new one!

but hey, if you really got 1500 to blow, take a look at the second hand MIA pbass. tonally it'll have more of a midrange growl compared to the jazz pickups you tried, so see whether you like.

As for the workmanship... no worries man, it's as solid as a bass can be.

yes, i'm super pro-MIA fenders =)

and no, i'm not getting any commission for helping reyrey sell his stuff (*whisper*reyrey, we tok over pm. safer there)

iverson763: hahahha *whisper* sure bro,you confirm get comission 1 [go to private message and delete all msg from iverson 763 without reading it]

wah... ok, never mind

DShadow: i was playing with my pbass just now and it just broke into 2. i was wrong.all fenders are poorly made. go get an ibanez or yamaha

It's stuff like this that makes me love the local musicians :d we all have a nice sense of humor! AHAHAHAHA and anyway it ain't second hand from what i know, its brand new but old stock YEEPEE!

IMO the H1 basses/ guitars souldn't be compared to the Jap units. if you like the feel & tone of the Jap models, it doesn't mean that the H1 offerings are inferior to them.

one must understand that the H1 is actualy a stripped down american, in this light, the H1 gets bashed for its 'compromised' nature. people who played the H1s feel that they are robbed of critical Fender authenticity, this remains subjective. there are definitely people who are for the H1 & those who will be against them- these are purely personal.

i used to be very skeptical with the H1 until i tried all the H1 models this series have to offer. since then, i understood why the manufacturer labelled them as 'everything you need, nothing you don't'.

if you've tried the jazz bass & like it- it's highly recommended. i prefer the jazz H1, the precision version is above average but it doesn't quite turn me on, compared to the former.

i'm waiting for the 2006 H1 pedrigree to arrive too...

with such fragile satin finish and to me,the feel is diff from american p bass,so i dont go for it...i'm anti h1,this is strictly personal comment =)

the H1 gets downplayed by its finish all the time. many people would be awe-struck by Stevie Ray's awesome tone from his 'bare wood' strat- that's even more stripped down than the H1...

the satin finish is definitely something to consider, yes it's fragile, dings easily but it delivers good tones.

hmm... but don't you think with the price you're paying for a H1, you would expect a better finish? it's not exactly cheap...

+1 to iverson....i expect something more from h1 when you take the price into consideration =) but if you really like h1,then you should buy it by all means

the H1 is the most affordable American model. it's always measured up against a non-American in terms of value-for-money considerations. no harm doing so but be informed that the satin finish is intentional- it's meant to be free from a final lacquer coating. same goes for Gibson's faded series/ Music Man's SUB models.
