Hi Gain Drives for EL84-style amp

Hey guys, was wondering if you have any recommendations for hi gain drives that work well with EL84-style amps. My current hi gain drive's the Triple Wreck but I find that there's too much low mids and it gets muddy. My only criteria for the drive is that it has to be tight. Not djent kinda tight, but something along the lines of Nuno or Petrucci kind of tight. Any recommendations?

Curious: Why are you even using a high gainer on a tube amp?

I think logic suggests that to keep the truth in your amp's voice and clarity what you need is more likely to be a be a boost/light OD. Maybe even run your amp hot and ride your guitar's volume knob?

It's just so that I have more options and that if I'm playing in a place that I can't use my amp, at least I have a distortion pedal I can use. What you're suggesting is what I'm doing right now..

Well your title does say that you're looking to use it on your EL84s. I hear good things about the this high gain monster pedal, tried that?

Hmm heard about it, but never tried it before. Maybe I'll try it later at G77!
