Yeah... he is a simple man who does what he want to do esp musically. Very helpful too! On a the issue of Guitar Techniques Mag with Scarified, he actually redid the track with a mini vid of his string skipping stuff... HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?! When a musician makes time to teach and share.

I got a decent paul gilbert story for you all.

About a year ago, he did some classes for MI's GIT. As some of you might know, he is the honourary dean of MI Japan. Anyways, he offered to teach 1 day a week. He eventually did about 5 hours of private lessons a week and you had to sign up, first come first served and all that.

Well I signed up and got to spend an hour just hanging out and playing music with this absolutely insane musician. He was hilarious, and we went over his improv concepts but the best part was that we spent most of our time playing and making fun of each other's guitar faces.

The guy is not only a monstrous musician but he is one funny mother and I had an absolute blast jamming with him.

Believe me Vaiyen, I thank my lucky stars every day I get to jam with some of the best musicians on the planet. Not only the big names but some of the teachers are just out of this world.

Imagine being able to spend 2 hours with people like Scott Henderson in a room and have him critique your playing.
