hey people, i'm thinking of getting a Epiphone Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom. should i go for it? or is there something better out there in Singapore. People who owns a Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom, how is that guitar? is it worth buying? and which amp should go with it? a tube or solid state? so far i have read reviews about it and the 2 features that interests me is that the guitar's ability to produce pinch harmonics at ease and the look of the guitar. but the one thing that i am not really in favour of is the rosewood fingerboard. i prefer an Ebony fretboard. Help me out here , thanks. My current gear is a synyster custom(limited edition) with a smarvo amp and a tube king. the genre i play is more of hard rock and metal. budget wise, there really isn't a limit to it but i ain't rich to get a Gibson.

just wondering didn't you post something like this on the UG forums?

I think technique is more important for doing pinch harmonics. I don't go for a guitar based on looks (i don't have the luxury) but each to his own.

Can you elaborate why you prefer a ebony fretboard compared to a rosewood fretboard?

I think your current guitar is pretty good (and new) so you might wanna invest in an amp or effects. For a what type of amp, I guess if it sounds good, buy it...?

yeah and i got the technique already.but the sound isn't as good as what i've heard on the internet with people using the Zakk Wylde LP Custom. oh and about my preference on ebony fretboard? it's cos i have sweaty palms and if i play live using a rosewood fretboard, it ain't gonna look nice. it's almost as if someone poured water on the rosewood. ( it's not that i have severe sweaty palms but it's bad enough, from my point of view) hell my teacher knew which positions i have been playing all along when we're jamming even when his eyes were closed (that was with my old guitar)
