Thank you beboptang, boongee and all the organisers for today's excellent programme.

This is without a doubt, the BEST drum exchange i have ever been to!!!

Thanks for all the noob friendly explanations and demonstrations, willingness to share, and the warm, not holding back feeling u gave today. Also for taking the trouble to lug all your equipment and friendly accompaniment down with you.

I now have a better picture of how swing isnt just about the ride pattern, but also the whole implied clave thing going on. The demonstrations carried out were really inspiring as well.

Thanks again, i had an excellent time!

am glad to see posts like this, this shows that drum exchange singapore is going in the RIGHT DIRECTION!!! ;)

i hope that we'll be able to make dES like this all the time moving ahead... the challenge here is how do we keep improving and maintain certain quality no matter which genre


granted, not every teacher is as polished in delivery as audrey, i guess the key for us here is, giving the teachers/professionals an additional platform to share and develop their presenting skills as well, and what better place to do it than at DES, which comprise drummers from all genres!!

next month... the genre being proposed by some of the softies is like a 360degree change, we're totally excited about it nonetheless, and have made preparations.... update more soon !!!! :mrgreen:
 
Yes, Singapore has it's Greats too...Great Drummers from different perspective. We have seen Audrey, Boon Gee, Mark Chan on this 9th Meetup (though not exhaustive apart from those that came in our past Xchanges).

We (the committee) is hoping to have 10th DXS Meetup - at the other Extreme from Jazz - the one that all of you have been waiting for - Let's hope our Special Guest Drummer (which is also our DXS Member) could be made avialable to us all (if he is not occupied on that day) ... We are Hoping for the Best.

9th one already and I've yet to attend one! I look forward to seeing u guys there.
 
Yeah this month's exchange was probably one of the best, because I am really a noob at jazz, and audrey's and boon gee's explanation has greatly improved my understanding of the genre. However, I felt that the lack of drum battles at this exchange lowered the excitement level a little...haha.

@ RD and plainsman, you guys make the next exchange sound so mysterious...o_O

This meetup was awesome. Thanks to Boon Gee, Mark, Audrey for sharing!
 
WAHAHA YA BALLS!!! means next drum meetup's theme is jazz! lol since its a 360 turn mah.

but still.. haha i cant wait to find out whats the next meet up's theme!

10th installment already and going strong still! hooya drummers!
