I'm down to these three guitars in the $450-600 range. Do any of you guys have any experience with any of them? Would appreciate some comments or suggestions. Tx =)javascript:emoticon('')

- Yamaha APX-5A
- Aria Sandpiper ASP-930
- Segull S6

Guess the Yamaha has the added benefit of an onboard EQ while the Aria is all solid and the Seagull is ... Canadian.... I wouldn't mind recommendations outside these three or any second-hand guitars around the same price range. :D javascript:emoticon(':D')

hi there....

my opinions:

(a) i prefer not to get yamaha as i find them too commercialized... as for the sound... only their high end ones(CGX) are nice...

(b) as which is the guitar to get... its really a WHOLE variety of it... i was in the search for about 3 months before spending an amt on an used Martin...
the issue here would be 2 things - the SOUND and the FEEL...

my five cents....

have fun

For me is neither. Get a ibanez, there some for this price range. I'm not a ibanez and i'm recommend this brand. Cause they are really good now. Good quality, good tone and everything.

Get Cort.. The Earth series is good for the price, some of them comes with Fishman electronics as well.

Canadian guitars are very susceptible to humidity, I have a Garrison so I know what I am talking about.

i would advise you to go and try them out urself as the feel of the guitar is also very important.

If a guitar feels right to me,it might not be the same for you.

Everyone has different tastes.

I think for this price u can probably buy a solid top takamine (2nd-hand) which includes a pickup.

Havent tried a whole lot of guitars b4. But there is quite a huge gap in the sound projection between plywood top and solid top, solid top has more sustain and is louder. So if u like to play around home and not plugging in, u shd try a solid top guitar. In addition, i heard many pple say solid top guitars tend to sound better as they age.

Solid wood can be very expensive. Yes, solid top are better sounding.
