Hey guys i have a fender 60th anniversary strat. Had it for abt 4 years now. Well the thing i wanna know is apparently all fender 60th anni MIA basses/teles/strats etc have a jewel headstock emblem, commemorative engraved neck plate, and a custom case with an embroidered 60th Anniversary logo. Mine only has a 60th anni logo at the back of the headstock and nth else. Now im wondering whether its a genuine 60th anniversary strat. Whats ur take on this?

All guitars MIA and MIM made during that year had that metal tag. It was used to denote that the guitar was indeed made during the diamond anniversary year.

Yours is not the commemorative special edition pieces that comes with the special aluminum exterior case with the embroidered 60th anniversary logo and what other embellishments on the guitar itself.

And yes, it's a genuine american standard strat. Don't worry.

The 60th anniversary special edition strat had the 57/62 pickups if I am not wrong.

By the way, whenever you buy ANY fender MIA or MIM (IIRC), there is always a hand signed hang tag that shows the instrument's serial number and signage of the inspecting officer. If there isn't, means the shop threw it away.

Also, under the pickup should have some sticker with a signature also of the assembly workers. These are all clues to check for a genuine fender guitar.
