Help With Setup: ISP DECIMATOR

My set up is really simple right now. Guitar > Distortion Pedal > Amp.

Recently I've heard reviews about the ISP Decimator Noise Gate and I was wondering if it is okay to set up the following:

Guitar > Distortion Pedal > Noise Gate > Amp.

From the reviews I've read, some of them say it is good to use the noise gate as such: Guitar > Noise Gate > Amp.
With the amp providing the distortion.

But my amp lacks distortion settings, and I have to use my Metal Zone Pedal. Any help? Thanks in advance.

your current arrangement is good 8-)

as for me, i use a noise elimination unit in between 2 distortions like this:

a noise gate should be used right after your drives and before any other modulations or delays. As you're trying to get rid of the noise casued by your distortion pedal. OR you can trying running the noise gate in your effects loop. Placing it before your drive pedals wun have such an effective impact in cancelling the noise.

My amp has Reverb as an effect.
Erm, so I put the distortion pedal first, then the noise gate, and then the amp?

Thanks alot for your help guys. =)

EDIT: I don't have a noise gate just yet, saving up for the ISP Decimator and I thought it would be good to get some help before I get one. Totally new to noise gates...
